Chocolate Orange Hamantaschen

This recipe is another version of the Lemon-Hint Hamantaschen. Same dry ingredients with different wet ingredients. The combination of chocolate and orange flavor is so good! Super complementing each other in the best way. Healthy recipe that will be a fantastic treat to add to your “Mishloach Manot”.

Ingredients

yield: 13-16 cookies

1 1/2 cups gf oat flour

1 cup almond flour

1 tsp baking powder

1 tsp cacao powder

1/4 cup olive oil

1/4 cup pure maple syrup

Zest of 1 orange

2 tablespoons orange juice

1 tsp tahini

Filling:

1/2 cup chocolate chips

1 tablespoon coconut oil

1 tablespoon pure maple syrup

zest of 1 orange

Directions for the filling:

Add all the ingredients to a glass bowl and microwave for about 30 seconds until it is melted, mix.

Directions

Heat oven to 350 F.

To a mixing bowl add the dry Ingredients and mix. Next, add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix.

Place the dough in a plastic wrap in the fridge for overnight or for at least 8 hours, to set.

Take a parchment paper and lay on your working surface. Place the dough on top and cover with another piece of parchment paper, same size as the one underneath. (It should be approximately the size of your baking sheet) Take a rolling pin and roll the dough to about 1/5 of an inch.

Take a round cookie cutter and cut circles. Take a spoonful of the filling and put it in the center of each circle.

Then pinch together one side, and then fold in the other 2 corners to create a triangle. You can close it on top all the way, or you can leave it open at the top- it's up to you.

Bake for about 10-15 minutes until golden brown in the edges.

Let the cookies cool down completely, then sprinkle some powdered sugar and serve.
