Asparagus Wraped in Puff Pastry
What a better appetizer than asparagus and puff pastry? Veggies with some carbs will satisfy your craving in no time. Not an entirely guilt free choice, but not the worst one either. You can serve it with a dipping sauce, or just like that. It is a beautiful dish that never fails. Simple and good! Crunchy and yummy!
And most importantly, everyone is able to make it--no need to be a chef.
Ingredients:
1 roll of Puff pastry, thawed 8 oz / 227 g
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon nigella seeds
About 2 lbs asparagus - about 26-30 pieces
Directions:
Heat oven to 375 F°.
Trim the asparagus to your liking.
Bring a steam pot to a boil, add the asparagus gently with the heads up. Steam for 2 minutes. Remove from the stove and let it cool completely. In the meantime, take a rolling pin and flattened the dough. Cut thin strips, about 1/4 of an inch wide. Then, wrap the asparagus. Take a baking sheet lined with a parchment paper. Lay the wrapped asparagus on it. Take a silicon brush, dip in olive oil and brush the top part of the dough. Sprinkle with nigella seeds and bake for about 30 minutes. Serve warm.
