Sweet Rice And Chickpea Dessert

This dessert is based on my Romanian grandma who used to make it for me all the time when I was a little girl. It is extremely addicting; once you taste it, you'll want to eat the whole thing.

My grandma passed away about 23 years ago and I wish she could see my blog--I'm sure she would be proud of the passion I have for food (I guess some of it was inherited from her.)

There are so many ways to serve this dish. You can serve it the traditional way, or, if you want to add more flavors, you can add fresh berries, raspberries preserve, cinnamon, or any of your other favorite toppings. You can eat it warm or cold.

It is not only delish, but it is also super good for you. I used brown rice instead of white, and I did not use any type oil, which makes the dish figure friendly, loaded with fibers and vitamins.

Ingredients:

2 cups soaked overnight chickpea

1 cup brown rice

3.5 cups water

2 tablespoon sugar

1 tablespoon agave

1/2 teaspoon salt

Directions:

Add all the ingredients into a sauce pan and cook, until all the water has evaporated and the rice is cooked.

Serve with fresh berries, or with raspberry preserve.

You can also sprinkle some cinnamon instead, or just eat it plain, as it is.

Serve warm or cold.
