Ingredients

3 cups fresh Brussels sprouts

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon sweet paprika

+salt to taste

+pepper to taste

Coating

1/2 cup gluten-free panko breadcrumbs (or regular)

1 tablespoon nutritional yeast

Directions

Bring a pot of water to a boil.

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Trim the ends of the Brussels sprouts and add them to the boiling water to cook for about 10 minutes.

Strain the Brussels sprouts and pat them dry. Using a glass or any tool suitable for smashing, gently press down on each Brussels sprout to flatten it slightly.

In a mixing bowl, combine the smashed Brussels sprouts with olive oil, garlic powder, sweet paprika, salt, and pepper.

In another mixing bowl, mix the breadcrumbs and nutritional yeast. Coat each Brussels sprout thoroughly with the breadcrumb mixture, ensuring an even coating.

Arrange the coated Brussels sprouts in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.

Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-30 minutes, or until the Brussels sprouts are golden brown and crispy, making sure to flip them halfway through baking for even browning.
