Shawarma Spice Blend

You probably realized that I use shawarma spice blend in a lot of my recipes.

It's the warmth of the spices that brings out the flavors in many dishes.

Usually, I get my Shawarma spice blend from Israel, but this time I decided to make my own blend.

A few reasons for that:

1. No preservatives.

2. You are in control of the amount of sodium in the blend - some of them contain large amounts of salt! Be aware.

3. It is extremely easy to make and very accessible. You will be surprised to find that you have most of the ingredients in your pantry.

4. You can always modify it to your liking.

5. It is cheaper too 😊

So here you go:

Ingredients:

1 tablespoon curry powder

1 tablespoon turmeric

1 teaspoon chili powder

1 tablespoon dried parsley

1 tablespoon black pepper

1 tablespoon sumac

2 tablespoons cumin

1 teaspoon ginger

2 tablespoons cumin seeds

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1 tablespoon ground coriander

Directions:

Take a mason jar and add all the ingredients. Shake the jar well, to mix. Store in your spice cabinet.
