Okra In Tomato Sauce

“The best Okra recipe” that what my son Roy would say on this recipe. He is the biggest fan of this dish and can eat the whole thing himself:)

Okra has great health benefits, in addition for it being low in calories and fat, It is rich source of minerals, fibers and vitamins. It is also known for its high amount of antioxidants.

Eating healthy doesn't mean eating food that isn't tasty, healthy food is definitely tasty if you make it right!

 

Ingredients

1 teaspoon olive oil 

1 clove garlic, minced

1 package of frozen or fresh okra 16 oz / 454 gr

1 can tomato sauce 15 oz / 425 gr

1 1/2 teaspoon pure maple syrup

+Salt

+Pepper

 Directions

Take a nonstick pan and add olive oil and garlic. Sauté for about a minute,  until you start smelling the aroma of the garlic, then add the tomato sauce, salt pepper and pure maple syrup. Let it cook for about 2 minutes on medium, add the okra. Lower the heat and let simmer for about 20-30 minutes, until it gets nice and tender.
